When: Sunday 12 November 2017
Where: University House, Acton
This market day is run by Canberra Modern, a group programming interconnected events designed to celebrate the many architectural wonders of Canberra. Highlighting unique private and public spaces and heritage is key to their operations, and so the market will take place in the University House at the Australian National University. The modernist motel-style building will be the background to vintage hair and makeup demonstrations, pop-up food and beverage stalls, and a photo booth.
A best-dressed competition will be hosted by Australian pin-up sensation Miss Cherry Bomb. Entries will be open on the day only, so be sure to get in early!
For motor enthusiasts, the Canberra Antique and Vintage Car Club will have some of their best mid-century cars out to glint in the midday sun. Meanwhile, local swing band In Full Swing will be playing era-appropriate hits for you and your special someone to jive to.
When: Every Sunday
Where: 21 Wentworth Ave, Kingston
These markets are a well-loved weekly affair. Set in an old industrial building, the event shows off Canberra's Sunday best – from food to fashion. Stallholders from across the ACT bring freshly baked bread and barista-made coffee, vibrant floral arrangements, copperworks, handcrafted jewellery, and so much more.
Local talents also grace the scene with live music – each week bringing a different set of artists into the spotlight. At the next market (November 12), Jumptown Swing and Guyy and the Fox will take the stage, respectively bringing slick dance moves and spellbinding folk-rock music.
Special themed market days also feature – Designer Sunday and Collectable Sunday are coming up this month on the 19th and 26th, offering a trove of original designs or well-preserved antiques.
When: Friday 1 December 2017
Where: Canberra Environmental Centre, Acton Peninsula

To mix things up a little, this is not so much a market day as it is a market evening. The festivities kick off at 5p.m. and, with last light in December typically happening around 8:40p.m., beautiful gold and orange light should reflect on the lake to make for a truly lovely start to your night.
While only a few stallholders have been announced so far this year, the lineup proves particularly promising. Acumen Aquatics and Vivaria will be selling plant-based art and living terrariums, while Mura Pathways to Wellness will bring 17 different blends of organic tea.
