Owners of Belconnen real estate will be pleased to hear that the ACT government is set to receive a major boost in its efforts to preserve the region's natural environment.
Simon Corbell, minister for the environment and sustainable development, announced in an August 9 media release that the government will receive approximately $6 million over five years.
This funding, a portion of the $450 million spread across the country, will be dedicated to "community-run natural resource management projects".
Ginninderra is one of the local groups within the state that will receive allocations of the funding – meaning residents and owners of Belconnen apartments are likely to benefit due to their proximity to the area.
Mr Corbell outlined exactly what the funding would mean for the future of the ACT's natural environment.
"The funding aims to build an environment that is healthier, better protected, well-managed and resilient, while also ensuring our farming practices are sustainable," he said.
The news will surely be well received by those looking for houses for rent in Belconnen, as the projects will help make various districts of the ACT, including Belconnen and Ginninderra, more appealing places to live.
