Employment opportunities are pretty important when it comes to choosing a new place to live, and real estate in Belconnen is no exception. The ACT government could be about to make the process of finding employment a whole lot simpler, as it launches the Youth Employment Pathways Hub.
The resource will be available to young people between the ages of 18 and 24 in a bid to help them become better prepared for the world of work. With finding a job becoming increasingly difficult, tailored support like this is becoming more important than ever.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics recently revealed that in seasonally adjusted terms, national employment increased 2 per cent between March 2015 and 2016. Meanwhile, there was a 0.4 percentage point decline in unemployment year-on-year.
Experts will be on hand to give one-to-one support to Belconnen's young job seekers. These will include financial management and the development of life skills, as well as adult literacy and language support.
The hub has been made possible through a joint partnership between the government, private industry and the community sector. All advice will be offered to meet each person's individual needs.
Access to the hub will be available on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Anyone who's interested and wants to take part should head down to the Corner@BCS Youth Centre on Chandler Street to find out more.
If you're making the move to this part of the ACT in search of better job prospects, then we're here to help. We have many houses for rent in Belconnen to offer, as well as different types of accommodation depending on your needs.
