Moving on: How tenancies in the ACT may come to an end
For whatever reason, you may find yourself needing to end a tenancy agreement. Here’s a look at the proper process for ending tenancies in the ACT.
Green energy is on the lips of every city planner across Australia these days it seems. In the last few years, we have made great strides to helping offset climate change, and Belconnen real estate is certainly seeing the benefits! Green projects abound in ACT, creating a cleaner, greener and healthier city in the form of a multitude of environmentally-friendly energy generation projects.
One such recent project is the Coonooer Bridge wind farm, the first of its kind to result from the city's wind auction process. This facility, once at full generation, will power 11,250 Canberran homes with clean, green energy.
While it is only generating 6MW of energy at the moment, this is expected to increase to 20MW by the end of March.
However, this is hardly the first green piece of technology that is helping to power Belconnen real estate. Canberra has been driving ahead with innovative energy production facilities, including one a little closer to home for Belconnen residents.
When we think of "landfills" and "environmental friendliness" together, they are usually diametrically opposed: landfills are one of the unfortunate remnants of our wasteful past.
However, West Belconnen has one of the most unique power generation facilities in the country, in the form of the methane gas recovery system housed above the West Belconnen landfill. Combined with its cousin at Mugga Lane, what used to be an eyesore on the landscape now provides green electricity to power 3,400 in 2015 alone.
In addition, the pair offsets over 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide: an equivalent of 35,000 cars being taken off the road, according to ACT Territory and Municipal Services.
So what does this mean for Belconnen? The greater strides made towards a greener Canberra spells out a future with cleaner air, a less severe climate change outcome and reduced reliance on fossil fuels.

If the number of these events is anything to go by, Canberrans love a good market day. Head on down to any of these great events to find out why.
