Belconnen has an integral place in Australia's capital state. The city was one of the original 18 districts of the territory, and is quickly expanding. The ACT Population Projections report estimates that the population living in Belconnen real estate will rise to 94,850 by 2019. If forecasts are correct, this will make Belconnen the most populated district in the ACT.
On September 19, the Belconnen Arts Centre will be launching an event called Our Place, a 50th birthday celebration for the district. It will be an afternoon filled with music from talented local artists, food, markets, workshops and more. Best of all – it's free.
The showcasing of Belconnen musicians will play a big part in the programme. If you've never delved much into the local music scene, it'll be a great time to get a taste of the diverse array on offer, including folk, experimental, rockabilly, electronic and instrumental.
Artists that will be playing include Happy Axe, Simone Penkethmen, Ben Drysdale and The Crossbones.
There will also be exciting performances by The Sound and Fury Ensemble, a mixed team of local dance and theatre artists who will exhibit the very best they have to offer.
Digital projections will be on display during the event, describing Belconnen's rich history and how it became the modern district it is today.
A community exhibition called Hidden Treasures will also be held leading up to the event, which will have over 50 artists explore the theme of people, relationships and places they hold dear to their hearts.
If you want to be a part of this rich and vibrant community, come take a peek at Belconnen apartments and houses. The team at Ray White Belconnen will help you every step of the way.
