Ben Faulks: Belconnen real estate specialist

By Ben Faulks

If you’re thinking about buying a Belconnen apartment or house, we recommend seeking out the services of Ray White Belconnen. We have experts who know the local housing market inside and out. That being said, you might want to know a little more about the team before entrusting one of us with such a responsibility. When it comes to hearing the stories behind the faces, why not start with Ben Faulks, one of the founders and selling principals of Ray White Belconnen.

Background

Ben Faulks is a Belconnen resident through and through. Born and raised in the region, he is a third-generation Canberran with his grandparents being among the first Belconnen dwellers more than four decades ago. It’s safe to say he knows his way around Belconnen real estate.

The birth of Ray White Belconnen

Ben has always had a career in working in banks or in business management positions. However, Ben insists, “the best investment I made was in our business”.

He was working in Macquarie bank in Sydney when the Global Financial Crisis hit, which had him “burned pretty badly”. Facing such challenging times, Ben took a gamble, turning to his father to borrow money. With the right skills and people by his side, that money would be invested into a business that would grow and become one of the region’s most prominent real estate agencies. Of course, that business was none other than Ray White Belconnen!

Work hard with Belconnen real estate

“I have always worked hard,” Ben affirms. “No substitute for it.”

Ever since starting the company in 2010 with Scott Jackson and his brother Sam Faulks, Ben has worked tooth and nail to make Ray White Belconnen the name to trust for anyone seeking Belconnen real estate.

His passion for forming long term relationships with customers as well as helping his team’s careers to flourish has helped to make this a reality. Furthermore, his expertise doesn’t lie just from just sitting behind a desk. Ben is a veteran negotiator and deal-closer, with a stunning 42 days being the average length of time it takes for his property to go from being advertised to being sold.

Perhaps this is why Ben has a massive plethora of awards to his name, including being named one of the top 100 real estate agents in Australia in 2012.

Life outside the Belconnen office

Ben isn’t just a suit with eyes on the numbers – he knows life is about a good balance between work and play. “Hard work and dedication pays off, so there’s no need to be in a rush,” Ben advises. “Enjoy the moments along life’s journey a little more.”

When he’s not speaking at a real estate conference or mentoring his staff, you might find Ben coaching the Gungahlin Eagles Rugby Club, supporting local community initiatives or watching a Brumbies game.

Furthermore, he always keeps loved ones are the forefront of his mind, saying that “nothing beats quiet time down the coast with family”. Ben also says that his wife Kylie is the person he admires the most, who raised a whopping $25,000 this year for the Stillbirth Foundation Australia
