The Capital Metro project in Canberra will offer the local community a chance to develop and grow, especially with an increasing number of Belconnen real estate residents becoming more environmentally aware and sustainable.
Minister for Capital Metro Simon Corbell said there has been increasing international interest in the project, with four private sector consortia – both local and international – offering their expressions of interest to develop this infrastructure.
"Attracting private sector interest of this scale supports the Australian Capital Territory government's vision to boost our local economy and build a modern, dynamic city with a strong urban core," said Mr Corbell in a December 22 statement.
"By delivering this project through a public private partnership model, we can ensure we capitalise on the skills and knowledge of the private sector to deliver a world-class light rail system befitting one of the world's most liveable cities."
As the region continues to grow – alongside population increases expected over the coming years – the potential for investment in property is likely to continue growing at the same time.
