According to recent research from RP Data, the number of people choosing to sell real estate by auction has increased – which may be good news for those thinking of listing Belconnen real estate for sale.
The research findings showed that as clearance rates for property auctions have increased nationally over the first quarter of 2013, more home owners are realising that this type of sale method is popular with buyers.
"Obviously if auctions are proving to be more successful, vendors will be more inclined to sell their homes by this method," said RP Data researcher Cameron Kusher in a July 11 statement.
Mr Kusher stated that although the number of properties being listed for sale by auction has increased, private treaty is still the most preferred method of sale in the country.
In 2011, the average national auction clearance rate was 47.2 per cent in capital cities, and since then it has increased to reach 63.3 per cent.
This may have been helped by the low cash rate, which has provided many more home buyers with the option of entering the property market.
