New initiative for aiding people with disabilities in the ACT

By Ben Faulks

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government announced the final report for their five year disability plan earlier this week, which is encouraging news for anyone looking into buying Belconnen real estate in the near future.

Highlighting the policies laid out in the Future Directions: Towards Challenge 2014, minister for disability Joy Burch said the report would highlight the various measures and methods undertaken over the last five years to help create better outcomes for those with disabilities living in the area.

"Future Directions focused on collaborative action across the Australian Capital Territory government and the business, sports, arts and community sector and has been supported by a 40 per cent increase in disability specific funding over the last five years, from $68.6million in 2009-10 to almost $96.2million in 2013-14," said Mrs Burch in a 3 December statement.

The next step is to reevaluate the process and establish new priorities for the future development of the state and the livelihood of people living throughout the ACT. Now could be a brilliant time to get in touch with a local real estate agent to begin investigating property options in the state capital city.
