Staying hydrated is a staple of being healthy, flushing out toxins in your body and helping keep you in a happy state of mind. Residents of Belconnen real estate have been asked to participate in Canberra's Water Quality Monitoring Program, which aims to help keep the city's water quality at the highest level possible.
The process doesn't involve any overt participation from the individual, but instead will mean sourcing samples at various times throughout the year by utility ACTEW Water from a front tap on the property.
ACTEW Water's David Hohnke said monitoring water isan important part of providing the best quality water possible, with the company servicing more than 100 million litres of water per day to over 163,000 customers citywide.
"The aim of this program is to test points right across the network but we need more home owners to help us out and get on-board the program," said Mr Hohnke in a 1 April statement.
To be eligible, your home must not be serviced by a rainwater tank. Furthermore, your front water tap needs to be easily accessible and not blocked by bushes, animals or other obstructions that could complicate the reading process.
