Recent Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) figures could provide future investors with some optimism for real estate in 2015, with housing approvals reaching a new record over 2014. This could offer anyone interested in Belconnen rentals the chance to make moves into the local community.
Master Builders Australia chief economist Peter Jones said the ABS figures showed a huge 200,814 approvals in 2014, and supported the forecast of an upswing in residential construction projects in 2015.
"Builder confidence will be boosted by the strengthening pipeline of work that will drive much needed job creation and investment in both the industry and the wider economy," said Mr Jones in a 3 February statement.
"The boom in approvals will eventually flow through to increased housing supply and work to help ease affordability pressures."
This is in the face of a slight drop in approvals seen in December, after October and November saw approvals jump by 11.9 per cent and 7.7 per cent respectively.
