Students in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) have ranked at the top of all 20 areas tested in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) 2013, which could be encouraging news for anyone considering moving their family into Belconnen real estate.
ACT Minister for Education and Training Joy Burch said the results were fantastic for the state and demonstrated the region's students excel across the board. In fact, the ACT has been the highest performing state for reading since 2008.
The results were also first or tied for the top spot across other academic subjects, including grammar, punctuation and numeracy since 2009.
Around 17,800 students in years three, five, seven and nine were involved in the NAPLAN testing across the ACT back in May this year, with results varying between genders. For example, females achieved higher mean scores for all literary domains tested.
On the other hand, males generally achieved higher results in numeracy. Furthermore, the numeracy and reading results for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the ACT were generally higher than in other metropolitan areas across the nation.
Now could be a great opportunity to secure a great education for your children, and consider purchasing Gungahlin real estate for their future today.
